*Who is Mr. Tinto? A Word from Our Founder*

At Mr. Tinto Coffee Roasters, we honor the rich tradition of Colombian coffee. In Colombia, we refer to black filtered coffee as “tinto,” and the seller is known as “El Señor de los Tintos,” which translates to “Mr. Tinto” in English.

*Our Humble Beginnings*

I began this journey as just a man selling Colombian coffee on a bicycle outside London’s East Croydon Station. Coffee is an integral part of Colombian culture; it’s the first thing we enjoy upon waking, accompanies our meals, and helps us power through long workdays. No matter the hour, there’s always a perfect moment for a cup of tinto.

*Honoring Tradition and Community*

Choosing the name Mr. Tinto is my way of paying tribute to the community that raised me. A cup of coffee is not merely an energizing drink; it embodies life-long traditions passed down through generations. It’s also a testament to the farmers who handpick the beans to support their families. Unfortunately, the journey from farm to cup often involves challenges such as pollution, wasteful packaging, rainforest destruction, and human exploitation.

At Mr. Tinto, we aim to change this narrative by exclusively importing Colombian coffee in small batches from family-owned farms. We prioritize traceability, accessibility, and fair trade practices. Our commitment ensures a low carbon footprint, fair pricing, and exceptional quality. When you choose our tinto, you support fair compensation for farmers and environmentally sustainable practices.

Since our establishment in 2017, our ethos has been to make first-class Colombian coffee accessible to conscientious consumers. We proudly serve the South London community while striving to make a positive impact. We are dedicated to educating our customers about the farms and conditions under which our tinto is grown.
